Dolores Lambright

Dolores Beverly (Hicks) Lambright, 93, Boise, Idaho, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Edgewood Spring Creek Memory Care in Boise.

Dolores was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was the middle child of Lloyd S. Hicks and H. Gladys (Boggs) Hicks. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Phyllis Moore, Jeanne Moore, and Gwen Kemp. Her brother, Lloyd D. Hicks, currently resides in Council Bluffs.

On Oct. 21, 1951, Dolores married Stanley E. Lambright and became a military spouse, until his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1970. They raised three children: Sheri (Van) Culver, Dave Lambright, and Jenny (Jimmy) McCullough. They were blessed with five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Dolores was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers, and animals, especially birds. She kept her feeders well-stocked. Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, crossword puzzles and word searches.

Dolores also worked as a housekeeper for the rectory at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell, and a teaching assistant for Health and Welfare Child Services. She found joy in helping children with disabilities learn and grow.

Dolores loved Stan, her family and friends, and beloved pets. She loved music—playing piano and singing, and was particularly fond of purses and chocolate.

Some described her as spunky, spicy, sassy and spirited. She was all that and more.

Her family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Edgewood Spring Creek Memory Care for their loving care, and her hospice team, especially Karen, for their compassionate care and kindness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined.
