Dolores Heaney
Dolores Heaney, Dee to her friends and family, passed away on August 30, 2025 at the age of 91 years young. Dee was born on November 23, 1933 to Mary and Eddy Hansen in New Jersey. She grew up with her brother Eddy and beloved sister Anita by her side.
Dee married Thomas Heaney in 1952, and they spent a lifetime together. They raised their 3 children, Linda, Donna and Tommy Daryl. Dee held a variety of jobs over the years; concert pianist, model, switchboard operator, secretary, bus driver. She was a creative soul, who painted and wrote her stories. A glamorous woman, she always looked elegant and loved to dance to big band music with her Tom. They could grace the floor like no other, and cause the whole room to stop and watch.
The beach was her special place, where she could sun bath and relax in the peace of the ocean. So was ANY casino, where she could relax over ringing bells and penny slots. She loved to shop, at stores and garage sales, always on the hunt for treasures. And travel. She spent many a day traveling in her RV with her Tom, or adventuring on sister road trips, or visiting friends and family, or traveling with them…..and the trips always included, you guessed it, a casino.
Dee loved her family deeply. She expressed her love in so many ways, big and small. Every line of a birthday card was passionately underlined. Every gift was wrapped in tissue paper with hand drawn Christmas adornments instead of tags. Every moment captured in photographs, complete with names and dates written on them; the original family historian. Every visit ended with hugs and kisses, multiple I love yous and a promise to call when you got home….and if you forgot she was calling you. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, aunt (Iggy), Grammy, GG and friend. It’s difficult to sum up her life in a few short paragraphs. There are so many things that made her Dee, that made her ours, that made us love her. We will miss her deeply, but are grateful for our memories and her love.
Dee was preceded in death by her husband Tom, son Thomas William, parents Mary and Eddy, brother Eddy Jr. and son-in-law Mike. Dee is survived by her sister Anita, daughters Linda (David), Donna and son Tommy Daryl; her grandchildren Michael (Shannon), Samantha/Rinky (Shawn), Shannon, Derek (Alicia), Jon (Becca), Levi and Thomas Wayne; her great grandchildren AJ, Dade, Trae, Grace, Dory, Case and Cadan, her nieces and nephews Chris, Scott, Denise, Debbie Jo, Bobby, Cindy, Sheryl and Ronnie and her many great nieces and nephews.
