Dennis Jay Moldenhauer, age 63, of Taylor, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was born October 29th,1961 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Norman and Eunice Moldenhauer.
Dennis is survived by his children, Ariel and Hayden; his beloved grandchildren, Mia and Mason; and his niece Kristina Forestiere, who was like a daughter to him. He is also survived by his siblings, Mark (Joyce) Moldenhauer, Laurie (Tom) Close, Pam Forestiere, and Brian (Jann) Moldenhauer, who will forever cherish the countless memories and laughter they shared together as a family.
A proud and hardworking man, Dennis dedicated 45 years to his career in pipefitting before retiring from Scheck Mechanical in 2023. Known for his integrity and relentless work ethic, he earned the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Outside of work, Dennis found his greatest joy in the outdoors. Whether he was golfing, hunting, tending to his yard, or fixing up something around the house, he was always happiest with his hands busy. His faithful dog, Buddy, was his constant companion. Long walks and truck rides were some of their favorite things to do together and there wasn’t a meal that Buddy didn’t get to share with him. Man’s best friend doesn’t even begin to describe the role that Buddy played in his life. Their bond was truly unbreakable.
Dennis had a laugh that filled a room and a spirt that made those around him feel lighter. His presence was magnetic, his humor contagious, and his love for family and friends immeasurable.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, followed by a short service. Burial will take place at Colwell Cemetery. All are warmly invited to a luncheon at Dennis’s home following the service, where we will gather to celebrate his life, share stories, and honor the remarkable man he was.
In lieu of flowers for his funeral, we’re asking those who wish to honor him to consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital using the link below. Dennis supported St. Jude often, and we know he’d be proud to have donations made in his name-supporting a cause that truly mattered to him.
