Denise Michele Nesteruk of Brighton, Michigan passed away on August 3, 2025 at the age of 66.

A lifelong lover of music and the arts, Denise served as the organist at St. Ursula Catholic Church in Ypsilanti for over 30 years. Her musical talent and beautiful voice were a cherished part of the parish community. Deeply rooted in her faith, Denise remained active in the church throughout her life.

In her younger years, Denise had a passion for the performing arts and participated in numerous theater productions and plays. Her love for the stage even led to a small appearance as an extra in a Netflix film—a memory she fondly shared. She was an avid movie enthusiast, well-versed in film trivia and actresses, and never missed a chance to talk about her favorite films.

Denise also had a flair for fashion—especially her jewelry. Known for her bold and glamorous style, she often wore a ring on nearly every finger, delighting friends and family with her signature sparkle. She was a proud and joyful member of the Red Hat Society, where she shared laughter and adventures with her dear friend Diane.

Denise is survived by her nephews, Daniel (Susie) Dezarov, Ian (Jenny) Nesteruk, Alex (Cheyanne) Nesteruk; niece, Kimberly (Dave) Peterson; great nephews, Derek Dezarov, Alfred Nesteruk; great nieces, Holly Dezarov, Grace Nesteruk; sister in law, Therese Nesteruk; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Denise was preceded in passing by her parents John and Irene; sister Yvonne (Stephen) Dezarov, and brother, Gerald Nesteruk.

A Graveside Chapel service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11 am. Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery, 3771 Whitmore Lake Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.

Denise will be remembered for her music, her sparkle, her love of life, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
