Delpha Trent
Delpha Mae Trent, 93, of Meadowview, VA passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the Abingdon Health and Rehab Center, Abingdon, VA. She was a life long resident of Washington County, VA born on October 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Jack and Grace Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jack Trent; three sons, Bobby Trent, Eddie Trent, and Andy Trent; a sister, Cleo Casey; a granddaughter, Amy Trent; a grandson, Bobby Reece, and a great grandson, Derrick Kennedy.
She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Moore and husband, Donnie, JoAnn Kennedy, and Sue Allison; one brother, Ron Morrison; a special great grandson, Carter, who loved his Granny Mae very much; and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and daughters-in-law. Also, her many family and friends that will remember her for her great country cooking, especially her brown beans and cornbread and her chicken and dumplings. She always tried to feed everyone that visited her.
The family would like to thank the 3rd Floor Staff at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center for the special care they showed to her and her family. Also, Dr. Amy Almany and Nurse Georgia Kate at Abingdon Internal Medicine for the love and care they showed over the years.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm Wednesday in the Riverview Chapel with Pastor David Critcher officiating. The burial will be private.
