Dawn Ramsay

Dawn Michelle Ramsay, age 78, a long-time resident of Palatine, Illinois, transitioned from this life on 8/24/2025.

Dawn was born in Rockwood, TN, and moved to Illinois after high school. She spent the bulk of her career at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association as a Facilities Manager. Beyond the love of family, her passions included the preservation of and time spent in nature, the care of all creatures large and small, kayaking, and her commitment to watching NFL Football whenever the Green Bay Packers played.

Most importantly, Dawn was a kind and generous person who made friends wherever she went. She made the effort to develop those friendships into strong relationships by keeping in touch, being a good listener and accepting people where they were at in their life. She will be missed by so many friends who truly loved her. She was predeceased by her partner, Carole Yamagiwa and her parents, Zoe Wright and Fred Ramsay.

A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will be held on September 27,2025 at 10:00 am at St. Lukes Episcopal Church , 939 Hinman Ave., Evanston, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Anti-Cruelty Society.
