David Larsen

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of David Larsen, a compassionate and devoted husband, father and physician, who left us on August 9th at the age of 67. A godly man of unwavering faith, strength, and kindness, David was a true servant, living his life to honor and please God and touching the lives of many through his wisdom, care, and dedication.

David is survived by his wife, 3 children, 2 younger brothers, his sister-in-law and his mother. After finishing business school he felt called to pursue a career in medicine and chose the field of neurology, where he eventually specialized in headache/migraine medicine compelled by the lack of good care available to his family members. He was known for solving difficult, multi-disciplinary medical cases and never gave up finding a way to help his patients.

David’s life was keenly devoted to his family, his patients, and his faith. He was a man of intellect and compassion, using his gifts to help those in need. His unwavering support, steadfast love, humor, and tireless efforts made him a rock to his family and a beacon of hope to many.

He cherished his wife, Diane, the love of his life, to whom he was married for 42 beautiful years. Together, they shared a love rooted in faith and commitment to their 3 children; Raquel, Savannah, and Darryl. He loved them fiercely and sacrificially.

David spurred others to be the best version of themselves, using wit, humor, kindness and wisdom. While the deep hole he leaves behind can never be filled, we find comfort knowing he is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully residing in His presence, getting all the rest he needs!

David was a beautiful reflection of our heavenly father’s love, while deeply loving his wife as Christ loved the church. When he meets Jesus, we are confident he will hear “Well done, good and faithful servant”! His legacy of faith, love, and service will be remembered forever.

A service to reflect Dave’s life will be held on Sunday August 24th from 4pm to 6pm. at Park Community Church located at 1001 N. Crosby St. 60610, Chicago, IL Visitation will begin at 3pm, service starts at 4pm.
