FULLERTON—David A. Brandenburger, 67, of Fullerton, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Krakow (rural Genoa) with Reverend William L’Heureux officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery at Krakow. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family.
David was born on October 5, 1957, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Edward and Beverly (Merrill) Brandenburger. He grew up on a farm near Genoa where he farmed several years along with his father and attended Genoa High School, where he played Legion baseball. After graduation, he worked Mueller & Schoepf Drywall in Columbus. He then worked for Glenn Rodehorst in Genoa for several years. He then moved to Grand Island where he rented an antique booth at the Conestoga Mall and at the Walnut Antique Mall in Iowa. Alongside running his booth, David spent countless hours refurbishing antique furniture. Known for his ability to fix almost anything, he was always tinkering with something. His greatest passion was the antique business, and he traveled all over the Midwest to attend antique shows.
Dave is survived by his sisters, Patricia Cuddeford of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Monica (Jay) Wright of Genoa, Marcia (Richard) Kula of St. Edward, Julie (Philip) Schornack of Columbus, Deborah Brandenburger of Petersburg, and Joan (James) Reeg of Genoa; brothers, Thomas (Millie) Brandenburger of Genoa and Mike Brandenburger of Genoa; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Brandenburger and Beverly Merrill-Brandenburger; his grandparents; nephew, Justin Dohmen; and brothers-in-law, Doug Cuddeford and David Ramaekers.
Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date.
