Daniel McCollum

Danny McCollum, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at his home in Jackson.

He was born on February 5, 1951 in Milan to the late Thomas A. McCollum and Crystal Davidson McCollum.

Danny was a truck driver with Averitt Express. Growing up he had passion for horses and competing in barrel racing. He enjoyed boating, camping and water skiing. Over the last few years, as his health declined, Danny loved to watch old sitcoms and Western movies; especially those featuring, John Wayne. Danny loved to watch football.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Andrews McCollum of Jackson; son, Joey Crossan (Brian) of Delaware; daughter, Lindsey Cruz (Guillermo) of Jackson; and six grandchildren, Cristian, Carmelita, Eve, Alejandro, Yotam and Yoana.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Dr. T. Scott Bloodworth and Brent McMinn officiating. Burial will follow at McCarver Family Cemetery near Medina.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour in the chapel.
