CRANE, Daniel Patrick – of Davison, MI, age 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, October 3, 2025. Dan was an incredibly caring, honest, and respectful man—a devoted husband, proud father, and cherished grandfather whose kindness touched everyone who knew him. Private Services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care, 4085 Lapeer Road, Burton, MI 48509, in Dan’s memory.

Dan was born in Detroit, MI on October 14, 1945, son of the late Gerald and Dorothy (Rapids) Crane. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from December 13,1965 until December 12, 1967. On September 25, 1965, Dan married Judith Ann Hummel in Ferndale, Michigan.

Dan found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His eyes would light up with every visit, no matter how he was feeling. He also loved playing cards with the family and was a loyal Detroit Pistons fan—faithful through every season, good or bad.

Before retiring 17 years ago, Dan spent over 25 years in the car business, where he earned the respect of many as one of the best finance managers in the industry. He will be remembered for his integrity, his warmth, and his unwavering love for his family.

Dan’s legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the strength of his family, and the many lives he touched along the way.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Crane; 2 sons, Mike (Kathy) Crane and Mark (Amy) Crane; proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren, Michael (Danielle) Crane, Justin (Kaitlynn) Crane, Sara (Montgomery) Hinson, Kaitlyn Crane, Dawson Crane and Dylan (April) Crane; adoring great-grandfather to 5 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Mason, Benjamin, Scarlett and Caroline; 2 siblings, Sue (Doug) White and Steve (Robin) Crane; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Dorothy Crane.
