Dan Tester

Dan Tester, aged 78, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2025 while surrounded by his loved ones.

Dan graduated from Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1965. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Barb, and they began their beautiful life of 57 years together.

Dan had a successful career at Kraft Foods where he worked for over 30 years. Following his retirement from Kraft, he worked for 10 years in Property Maintenance serving the Hidden Valley Lake community where he resided.

Family was Dan’s number one priority. Together, he and Barb raised four wonderful children who learned from his unwavering example of kindness and unconditional love.

Dan spent years coaching his sons’ baseball teams, and in later years, could often be found fishing in Hidden Valley with his grandchildren, or on a boat with his sons on Lake Erie.

His trips to Florida with family, especially with “Barbie” and “his Jenny” were among his most cherished experiences.

He also loved watching IU basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, and TikTok with his beloved dog Hoosier.

Dan’s legacy will live on through those whose lives he impacted with his thoughtfulness, generosity, and love.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Reah and father Jake. He is survived by his wife, Barb; his children, Doug (Carol) Tester, Jeff (Carrie) Tester, Jenny (Dan) Scalfaro, Brad (Jessica) Tester; and his 11 grandchildren, Zach, Meghan, Madi, Lauren, Brandon, Olivia, Emma, Addison, Sophia, Ava, and Mason

A celebration of Dan’s life will take place on May 17th at 6 pm at the Hidden Valley Lake Property Owners Association, located at 19303 Schmarr Dr., Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025. Please dress casually.
