Cyrus Lee, Jr.
Mr. Cyrus Broadus Lee, Jr., better known as C.B., age 78, of West Jefferson, passed away Friday morning, August 22, 2025, at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Orion Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Goodman and Rev. Calvin Faw officiating. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 in Nelson’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 pm, one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Lee was born in Caldwell County on November 23, 1946 to the late Cyrus Broadus Lee and Carrie Edmisten Lee.
He is survived by: His wife, Carolyn Gentry; Three daughters, Ginny Lee-Jones (David) of Asheville, Linane Hodges (Josh) of West Jefferson, and Loris Davis (Calvin) of Kerrville, Texas; One sister, Toby Faw of Lenoir; Three grandchildren, Kelton Lewis and Dianna Miller, Colby Lewis, and Zora Lee-Jones; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his son, Cyrus B. Lee, III (Rusty); two brothers, Tony Edmisten Lee and Buddy Gene Lee; and a sister, Freida Jo Bolick.
C.B. proudly served the community as a North Carolina Highway Patrol Officer until his retirement. Afterward, he worked at Pete’s Gas Station. He was a faithful member of Orion Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
He loved being outdoors, especially working on landscaping projects, and he also enjoyed playing golf. His grandchildren brought him much joy, and he cherished taking them fishing. C.B. was always a nice person and willing to help his friends and neighbors out.
