Cynthia Morgan

Cynthia Diane Morgan, Born July 26,1950 in New Bern, North Carolina. Cynthia passed away peacefully with family by her bedside on July 18, 2025. Cynthia was the daughter of North Carolina State Trooper W.H. Morgan Jr and Lois Catherine Sellers Morgan. Cynthia is survived by her longtime partner Richard Rouse of Hendersonville, North Carolina, her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Terri Morgan of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and their children, spouses, and grandchildren.

Cynthia was a child of North Carolina, having moved with her Trooper father and family from station to station through the state. Cynthia finished High School at Rockingham, North Carolina in 1968 and soon after moved to Sanford, North Carolina, where she resided during her working years. Cynthia and Richard moved to Hendersonville in 2008 where she lived until her passing.

Cynthia was a multi-talented artist. She excelled in whatever medium she chose. Many people in the Sanford and surrounding area benefitted from her expertise in baking, decorating, and cake construction. Few of our family were not recipients of her fabulous birthday, graduation, wedding and any other occasion cakes. Cynthia decided she wanted to paint and of course created amazing pastel works of art. She excelled in anything from small canvases to giant four feet by twelve feet landscape murals. She dabbled with pottery as well where she experimented with designs, glazes, and firing techniques. Needless to say, her pottery was exquisite. She was an excellent seamstress and cook as well.

Cynthia demonstrated her true heart as the primary caregiver through the last months of her mother’s life. Cynthia loved working in her flowers, shrubs, trees, and yard. She lived her last year’s peacefully at her home with Richard.

Celebrations of Cynthia’s life are planned for family and friends in Hendersonville and Sanford.
