Beloved son and nephew, Cort Daniel Cassetty, age 46, of Martinsville, entered eternal rest on Friday, October 31, 2025, at The Waters of Martinsville.
Born on Tuesday, August 7, 1979, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the only child of Daniel Joseph Cassetty and the late Vicki Lynn (Oliver) Cassetty.
Cort attended school in Indianapolis, Indiana until a motorcycle accident left him disabled. Despite life’s challenges, he remained strong in spirit and continued to share his warm heart and sense of humor with everyone around him.
He had a lifelong love of classic cars and was always proud to show off his El Camino and Mustang. He also loved motorcycles. Cort was also passionate about art and never turned down a cold Mountain Dew. An avid animal lover, he adored his beloved dog, Mya, and his “dog brother,” Gizmo. He was of the Baptist faith.
He leaves behind his loving family including his father, Donald Joseph Cassetty of Martinsville; grandmother, Ann Oliver of Martinsville; uncle, George Oliver Jr., both of Greenwood, Indiana; niece, Serenity Simmons (husband, Charlie) of Martinsville; great nieces, Mika, Gabriella and Roselynn Simmons, as well as his faithful companions, Gizmo and Mya.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Lynn Cassetty; aunt, Pamela Leibacher; and grandfather, George Oliver.
In honoring Cort’s wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated. There will be no services at this time. Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.nealandsummers.com.
