Darrell was an avid sports fan and remained a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan in the sea of Green Bay Packers fans that surrounded him in Osceola. During his spare time, you could find Darrell shooting pool at Kens Keyboard or the Cascade. Darrell also enjoyed cooking, especially barbecuing, and he spent as much time fishing as possible with his close friend, Don. Darrell also spent years volunteering at the UW Wanderoos helping to fundraise for the community with meat raffles and other benefits.
