Clifford Kaiser, a lifelong resident of Sterling, Colorado, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 19th. Rosary services will be held at Tennant Funeral Home on Friday, July 25th at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Iliff, at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 26th, followed by a procession to Riverside Cemetery and luncheon at St. Anthony’s Cafeteria.
Born in Sterling on May 23rd, 1955, to Cliff Sr. and Anna Kaiser. Cliff spent his youth working on area farms from Crook to Atwood. He attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School, where he forged lifelong friendships through sports and service to the Church. Later, at Sterling High School, he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and the Auto Mechanics Club. He was famously associated with a large burnout mark left in the school parking lot during his senior prom, reportedly from a notorious green ’57 Chevy Bel Air.
After graduating high school, Cliff began his career in the local oil fields of the DJ Basin, starting with Baney Well Service. He soon partnered with friends to establish Bran-Dex Wireline Services. Cliff and his partners built Bran-Dex into one of the region’s longest-running oil field companies, continuously serving the community since the late 1970s. Despite recent health complications, Cliff remained active in the field until his passing.
Cliff married Deborah Ann (Nelson) Kaiser of Calhan, Colorado, in Sterling on April 28th, 1979. They shared a passion for drag racing, frequently taking their Bran-Dex blue ’55 Chevy Hardtop to events at Julesburg and Bandimere speedways. More recently Cliff could be found cruising the back roads of northeast Colorado on his Harley which was another passion of his.
Cliff and Deb had two sons, Chris and Craig, who followed in Cliff’s footsteps by attending St. Anthony’s Catholic School. Cliff was immensely proud of his sons, particularly enjoying watching them play football and baseball.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Deb (Sterling); sons and daughters-in-law Chris & Leslie (Sterling) and Craig & Elizabeth (Peyton); granddaughters Eva (11), Anika (9), Amelia (7), Kiley (6), Cora (5), Harper (3); brothers Chuck (Loveland) and Bob (Arizona); and sister Anna Marie Orne (Sterling).
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Anna, and sisters, Ramona Hessler and Rita Ertle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cliff’s name to the Logan County Humane Society care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
