Clarence Earl Davis, born on October 3, 1956, in Murphysboro, Illinois, peacefully passed away at home on June 11, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the age of 68. Clarence was a man who lived his life in accordance with his Christian beliefs, never missing a day without reading scripture from the Bible. His morning routine was an intimate time spent with the Lord, a practice he cherished
He worked with his best friend Carl at Superior Dash for almost 30 years and enjoyed his time working there along side co-workers he also called his friends.
Clarence’s enjoyment for nascar, boating, fishing and just relaxing on the water was always a day to look forward to. And his passion for archery was evident in his membership with the Daytona Archery since 2003. This hobby was more than just a sport for Clarence; it was an expression of his patience and meticulous nature. If a challenge arose, Clarence would thoroughly research until he found the best solution, embodying a relentless pursuit of knowledge and understanding.
Clarence is preceded in death by his mother, Viola Eisen Davis, and Earl Davis, both of Murphysboro, IL. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Gail Davis; brother, Jeff Davis (Murphysboro, IL) and sister, Beth Cain (Havelock, NC); niece, Brittany Skinner (Fayetteville NC)… Best Friends, Carl and Shelly Zimmerman (Port Orange, FL); Aunt, Patty Stanton (Murphysboro, Illinois). Who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and faith.
Clarence’s life will be celebrated at a graveside ceremony at Shady Rest Cemetery in Holly Hill, Florida, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, grounded in faith.
May we find comfort in the words Clarence lived by, John Chapter 14: “Let not your heart be troubled,” Jesus said. “You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me.”
