Cindy Winger

Cindy passed peacefully at 12:41 p.m. on June 25, 2025, at her home. She departed for her heavenly home to reunite with loved ones at the age of 70, following a lengthy battle with cancer — which she faced with more sarcasm than suffering, and enough sass to keep her doctors on their toes.

Cindy had a special bond with her daughter Michelle — the kind of relationship built on love, mutual stubbornness, and laughter so loud the neighbors probably considered calling someone. Michelle wasn’t just Cindy’s daughter; she was her best friend, her fiercest advocate, and her favorite sparring partner in all things sarcastic.

She retired from the BCA in 2017 after a career she loved, helping connect agencies across Minnesota. Cindy was known for her sharp wit, if you ever needed a straight answer (and maybe a snarky comment to go with it), Cindy was your person.

In her retirement, Cindy found joy in the simple things like a freshly mowed lawn which she insisted on doing herself, watching her backyard birds, and keeping tabs on the squirrels, chipmunks, and any other critters who dared trespass.

Cindy was deeply loved and cared for by “The Team” — her daughter Michelle, Auntie Karen, niece Allison, and George the cat her napping partner. She is dearly missed by family and friends. Rest in peace, Cindy. Heaven won’t know what hit it.
