Christopher Paul Schuchardt, born October 13, 1956 in St Louis, passed away on August 10, 2025 in St Petersburg, FL, at the age of 68. A dedicated patriot and servant to his community, Chris lived a life marked by courage, adventure, and love for his family and friends.

Chris proudly served 22 years as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps, embodying discipline and bravery throughout his military career. Following his time in the Marines, he continued his commitment to public service as a Police Officer with the Oceanside Police Department (OPD) for 10 years, where his integrity and dedication touched countless lives.

An avid adventurer, Chris found joy in exploring the world, with a particular passion for scuba diving in the Caribbean’s vibrant waters. Closer to home, he cherished outdoor moments with his beloved dog, Azul, whose companionship brought him endless happiness.

Chris is survived by his devoted wife, Laurie; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Jr. and Paloma; and his siblings and their spouses, Susan and Joe Miklovic, Scott and Maggie, Sally and Omar Alami, Curt and Anthoula, and Eric and Julie. He also leaves behind a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his warmth and spirit.

Chris’s legacy of service, adventure, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A memorial will be held to honor his remarkable life on 20 Aug at 10:30, Oceanside Mortuary, Oceanside, CA, with burial following at National Cemetery Miramar at 1:15.
