Charlotte Tanner Lamb, born on September 14, 1937 in Waycross, GA, died peacefully in her home in Fleming Island, FL, on June 27, 2025, at age 87. She was the daughter of Noah and Trudy Tanner, one of six children, preceded in death by Betty, James, Martha, and Jackie. For 80 years of her life, she lived in the Jacksonville, FL area and graduated from Robert E Lee High School. She was married to Iven S Lamb, Jr.(who preceded her in death in 2006) on June 9, 1961. Together, they lived in St. Petersburg, FL for two years before returning to Jacksonville in 1965. Aside from working for a short time at Prudential Insurance in St. Petersburg, Charlotte was a homemaker the majority of her life. As a devout Christian, church and music was at the centerpiece of her family’s life. She taught, she sang, she led, she served. For much of her life, she was a member of Woodstock Park Baptist Church. She and Iven became faithful members at Shindler Drive Baptist Church in their later years. When she moved to Fleming Island in 2014, she joined First Baptist, Orange Park. She had many ‘favorites’ through the years: singing, cooking, shopping, incredible vacations, the Florida Gators, the Hemlock Inn, and eating with the ‘ole Woodstock gang.’ But most of all, she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family, especially the grands and great grands.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Hutson (husband, Bruce) and son Shelvin Lamb (wife, Pam), along with four grandchildren- Cara (Matt), Catie (Jonathan), Daniel and Anna. Four great grandchildren, Noah, Leah, Adam and Maddox and her brother, Wally Tanner, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. The family invites you to come celebrate her life on July 1, 2025 at Shindler Drive Baptist Church, 7100 Shindler Drive, Jacksonville, FL. Visitation at 12pm. Service at 1pm. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL at 3pm. Arrangements by Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Orange Park.
The family requests memorials be made in her name to One More Child (formerly Florida Baptist Children’s Home) P.O. Box 8190 Lakeland, FL 33815
