Charles Baumgardner

Charles Robert “Charlie” Baumgardner, 84, beloved husband of Sandra “Sandy” Baumgardner died on June 11, 2025. Charlie was born on January 8, 1941 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Marjorie Lute Baumgardner Wright and Lester Baumgardner. He was retired from INCO Alloys and resided in Lavalette with his wife and dog, “Lulu.” He was a car enthusiast and a music lover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Macklin; a brother, Gerald Baumgardner; nephews, Mike and Micky; and his aunt, Betty. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; son, Charles “Robbie” Baumgardner; step-sons, John (Sherri) and Shawn Hunter; grandchildren, Amanda (Bradley), Chase, Ayrton, Mikayla, Maddie, Jenelle, T.C. and Johnathon; three great grandchildren, Ivan, Khylan and Mazelynn; niece, Margaret Macklin; nephew, Charle Macklin; sister-in-law, Becky Taylor (Byron); daughter-in-law, Jetta Mayer; friend and neighbor, Janet Ward. “Your laughter will echo in our hearts forever.” A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025 in the Fellowship Hall at Florence Memorial Methodist Church, Lavalette, WV. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Huntington Cabell/Wayne Animal Control Shelter, 1901 James River Road, Huntington, WV 25701.
