Cassandra Mae Emery, affectionately known as “Pludie” was born on December 30, 1947 to the union of Hillard Leroy and Carrie Wilson.

Cassandra took pleasure in shopping, self-care, decorating her house for every occasion and gardening.

Pludie was a compassionate and generous woman who delighted herself in putting a smile on others face. Her presence touched the lives of all who knew her.

Cassandra attended Frank L. Gillespie Elementary school and John J. Marshall Harlan high school. Cassandra gave her life to Christ and was baptized at St. James Baptist Church in Chicago Illinois.

Pludie married in 1965 to Reginald R. Emery, Sr., in this Union was the birth of their first-born Reginald R. Emery, Jr.

Pludie was a devoted mother and friend.

Cassandra held many positions in her career including but not limited to Northern trust Bank, All-Net Communications, and Chicago Mercantile exchange, where she dedicated 34 years of service. There she met and maintained a second family with a phenomenal group of intellectual people.

Cassandra leaves to cherish her only son, Reginald Emery, Jr.; her life partner, Larry Wilder; her two sisters, Gladys and Diane; her brother, Charles; her nephews, Stephen and David; her nieces, Lisa, Dakita Bernedette and Diana; her godchildren, Marian, Monique, Myra, Lisa, Deveda and Charlett; godsons, Tony and Kenneth.

Preceded her in death her mother; Carrie Wilson, her father; Hillard Leroy, her nephew; Samuel K. Parker, her good girlfriends; Margo, Josephine and Valerie.
