Carson City sheriff bookings: Man with felony warrant resists, obstructs in arrest

A 30-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday for a felony warrant, obstruction and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Jainier Carpio-Arevalo was booked into Carson City Jail following an investigation where there was a traffic stop.

According to the booking report, at around 12:30 a.m. a deputy was patrolling the area of Carson Street and Arrowhead and observed a vehicle being operated with suspended registration. The registered owner had a felony warrant issued March 27, 2025 out of Reno Township Court.

The deputy attempted contact with the driver who was the registered owner of the vehicle. The man refused to identify himself and physically resisted while the deputy attempted to detain him, the report states.

A search incident to arrest yield a suspected methamphetamine pipe. He was booked for the felony warrant, possession of paraphernalia and obstructing. Bail: $15,000.

In other arrests:

— A 62-year-old San Luis Obispo, Calif., man was booked Monday for a misdemeanor probation violation warrant issued June 13, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 62-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of East Fork Township court in April 1993. Bail: $570 cash.
