Carson City fire crews called to brush fire on Thompson Street

Update 7:32 p.m. – According to Carson City Fire Department, forward progress on the fire has been halted.

– Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Sunday evening to a backyard brush fire in the 900 block of Thompson Street.

At 7:08 p.m. dispatch alerted the fire department on a large brush fire burning in a backyard.

Multiple fire units were called. The fire is threatening structures, according to dispatch. Evacuations are in progress.
