Carson City emergency crews respond to vehicle crash involving bicycle rider

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Monday evening to a vehicle crash involving a bicycle rider in the area of Roop Street near Caroline and Robinson streets.

The incident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. The cyclist was injured. Paramedics and an ambulance responded and the rider was later flown by Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center. Carson City sheriff’s deputies were directing traffic. South Roop Street was briefly closed near the scene of the crash.

In a separate incident, CCSO dispatch advised of a crash at 5:52 p.m. in the area of East William Street and Saliman Road. There was airbag deployment. Occupants were being checked by CCFD for injuries.
