Carson city deputies make weekend arrests for burglary, domestic battery and DUI

A 30-year-old man was arrested Friday for suspicion of residential burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Following an investigation, suspect Alejandro Guerrero Ricos was taken into custody. He was also booked for possession of stolen property and destruction of property.

According to the booking report, a CCSO deputy was called to the 3400 block of Airport road at 11 a.m. for a a stolen vehicle report. The suspect was last seen going westbound on Nye Lane. Deputies learned the reporting party was the owner of the vehicle and that she knew the suspect.

A deputy advised they had a male matching the description of Rios near a black truck with a camper shell over the bed. A deputy contacted Rios on the north side of the vehicle. Rios is a known gang member and has a history of carrying weapons, the report states. The deputy placed him at gunpoint and instructed him to walk back with his hands up. Rios complied and was handcuffed for the duration of the investigation.

He was read his Miranda warning and wished to answer the questions. He stated he took the keys the other day because he uses the vehicle more than the female owner does. He stated she was setting him up and stated he drove the car to go see his dog and then returned to the apartments off Airport Road. He stated that 2 to 3 weeks ago the female threatened that if he took the vehicle she would report it stolen. He stated he let the statement go to the wayside then and that she hadn’t stated it since.

The victim had also advised that an iPad, PS4 and bike had also been stolen, the report states. The suspect stated the woman bought the PS4 for him and gave it to him. He stated he grabbed the PS4 before he left because he said it was given to him. He stated the PS4 is at a friend’s house. He said he was unaware of where the iPad statement came from and did not know anything about an iPad. He also stated the bike was lent to him, according to the report.

Deputies spoke with the vehicle owner who said she never gave Rios permission to take the vehicle and stated she told him that if he takes the vehicle she would report it stolen. The woman is the only registered owner of the vehicle on the DMV return, the report added.

The victim stated Rios grabbed all of his belongings and took the vehicle from the property. She also stated he took her PS4 and iPad. Deputies later learned the PS4 had a joker sticker on which it is the suspect’s moniker and the iPad is mint green.

Deputies also investigated the reported theft of the bicycle, where it was stolen from, and learned the black beach cruiser was given to the victim when his father died. The victim stated he never gave Rios permission to borrow the bike and stated it was kept in the backyard, where Rios would have had to have gone through the gate to obtain it.

Deputies learned the door to the bicycle owner’s travel trailer was damaged and that Rios had been observed attempting to pry the door open with his hands.

The victim stated the damage to the door would cost approximately $1,500 for repairs and stated the value of the bike was $600. He also stated Rios never had permission to be on the property or to go into the backyard, according to the report. The victim later retrieved the bicycle from the scene and provided a written statement, the report states.

Further interviews were conducted with others. Following the investigation, Rios was booked for alleged residential burglary, possession of stolen property, destruction of property and possession of a stolen vehicle. Bail: $20,000.

In other arrests:

— A 23-year-old woman was arrested early Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Deputies were dispatched at 1 a.m. to a residence for a report of a possible domestic battery. An anonymous neighbor advised to dispatch they heard yelling coming from the building and said it “sounded physical.” The reporting party also advised they believed it was coming from an upstairs apartment.

Deputies arrived and could hear voices arguing from one of the units. A deputy knocked on the door and heard a female call for a male to answer the door. The deputy identified himself and the male opened the door. The deputy immediately observed he was bleeding form his nose and mouth. A deputy spoke with the man and another deputy spoke with the woman.

She advised the two had been dating and moved into the apartment that day. She stated they argued that day and said she could not remember what started the argument. She denied there was any type of physical altercation. The deputy observed she had the formation of a small bruise forming near her eye and she had dried blood around her mouth. Deputies took photos of her as evidence.

Deputies spoke with the man who stated the two were in an argument and the woman became “violent and belligerent” with him and began striking him around his back and shoulders and bit him several times.

He advised he tried to separate himself from the woman, however he said she followed him around the apartment and at one point struck him in the face several times. He said he struck the woman once and pushed her off of him. The deputy observed the man was bleeding behind the ears as well, the report states. The deputy took photos of where the man advised he was struck.

The deputy exited the apartment and placed the woman in handcuffs. She made several statements that she was hit first and she was only going to jail because she “hit harder,” the report states. She was taken to jail and read her Miranda rights and given a statement form if she wished to provide the deputy with her version of events. Bail: $3,137.

— A Carson City man was arrested Saturday in the 1400 block of North Edmonds for a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation. The man had consumed alcohol, a violation of his conditions. Bail: $2,000 cash.

— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday at a Bryan Circle residence for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of dangerous without with a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and a DAS violation. Bail: $2,500.

— A woman was booked Saturday, 6:55 a.m. into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor warrant issued August 12, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.

— A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for misdemeanor parole and probation violation. Bail: $3,000.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at 1:29 a.m. for a suspected impaired driver in the area of East 5th and Stewart Street.

The suspect driver had bloodshot and watery eyes and the deputy could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The deputy asked where he was coming from. The man said a local bar where he said he had two shots. The deputy told him be believed he was driving under the influence and asked him to step out of the vehicle to conduct field sobriety tests.

The man was asked a series of questions and said his last drink was three minutes before the stop. During the field sobriety tests, he showed signs of impairment and could not keep his balance. He provided a preliminary breath test of .379 and was arrested. He was read the request for voluntary evidence and agreed to a blood tests. He was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and then to jail. Bail: $1,140.

— A 59-year-old Grants Pass, Oregon man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued March 7, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.

— A 46-year-old Yerington man booked at Carson City Jail on Sunday for a misdemeanor violation of conditions warrant issued July 22, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.

— A 45-year-old Carson City man, Augustine Raul Garcia, was arrested Saturday for a felony outside agency warrant out of Utah and misdemeanor fictitious registration.

According to the booking report, a deputy assigned to the Carson City Sheriff’s Special Enforcement team observed a vehicle on state street that had no rear registration plate. The deputy made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of William Street.

The deputy approached the vehicle and noticed the vehicle did have a rear registration plate but it was hanging off of a piece of wire and facing backward. The deputy contacted the driver of the vehicle and informed him the reason for the stop. The man said he had just purchased the vehicle and does not have current proof of insurance and has not registered the vehicle.

The deputy ran the rear license plate, which returned as suspended to a Ford. The vehicle the deputy pulled over was an Isuzu. The VIN was later checked and it returned surrendered. The deputy checked with dispatch for wants, warrants and license states. The man returned with a confirmed felony no-bail warrant out of Utah County Sheriff’s Office on July 30, 2025. The man was arrested and taken to jail. Bail: No bail hold in lieu of hearing.

Man booked for alleged DUI second offense; suspect refused blood tests, seizure warrant obtained

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday in the 1500 block of North Carson Street for suspicion of DUI second offense and obstructing a police officer, both misdemeanor offenses.

According to the booking report, deputies were called regarding a suspected intoxicated driver leaving the 1800 block of North Carson Street. Deputies were advised from the reporting party that the man was acting weird and was still sitting in the car. Dispatch then advised the vehicle left southbound on North Carson Street.

Deputies located the driver in the 1100 block of North Carson Street and made contact with him. The deputy asked him to roll down the window and turn the vehicle off. The man turned off the vehicle but refused the first attempt on the window, the report states.

The second time the deputy asked the man to lower the driver’s side window, the man complied. The deputy could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the man’s breath. When talking, the man had slurred speech and empty bottles of alcoholic 99-cent shooters in the center console cupholder, the report states.

The deputy asked the man to step out of the vehicle. The man refused. The deputy asked again. The man stayed seated, stating he was not driving the vehicle. The deputy took control of the man’s left arm and told him to exit the vehicle, the report states.

After he stepped out of the vehicle, the deputy asked if he would take some tests to ensure of his sobriety and to ensure he was safe to drive. The man refused to take the tests and continued to state “why do we have to do this?” The deputy asked the man if he would submit to a preliminary breath test. He refused. He was placed in handcuffs and the vehicle was towed.

The deputy read the Request for Voluntary Evidence form and the man eventually consented to a blood test. While en-route to the hospital for medical clearance the man revoked his consent. The deputy contacted an on-call deputy district attorney and judge to submit for a single series blood draw. The judge granted a seizure order for the blood draw, the report states.

While being taken to the hospital the man stated he would not take a blood draw and requested a lawyer. While obtaining medical clearance, the man became agitated, yelling at staff and deputies for a lawyer, the report states. Once the warrant was granted, a blood draw was attempted with the aid of another deputy and security staff. The blood draw was unsuccessful due the man’s willful and unlawful obstruction, the report states.

He delayed the seizure of blood and more deputies were called in for physical control. The man was placed in a restraint by security and a single series blood draw was seized, the report states.

The man was placed back into handcuffs and taken to jail. He was booked for DUI second (the prior conviction was on July 10, 2024) and obstruction. Bail: $2,500.
