Carson City man arrested after allegedly stabbing, slicing victim with broken bottle during fight
A 35-year-old Carson City man, Luis Daniel “Danny” Rico-Ramirez, was arrested in the 1400 block of Como Street Monday evening for felony battery with a deadly weapon.
According to the arrest report, Rico-Ramirez was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road around 6:30 p.m. on report of a fight.
On arrival, deputies found a man on the ground “covered in bright red blood”. Three others stood around the man, and one of the individuals had tried tying a tourniquet on the man’s left arm with a belt.
Deputies noted that the man had lacerations on this left arm and stomach, and a deep laceration under the left hand on his forearm. The man was unable to communicate with deputies.
Another deputy held a rag to the man’s laceration while awaiting EMS. Deputies noted that the man had a circular ring on the left side of his lower stomach with “fresh bright red blood coming from it,” which appeared to resemble a stab from a broken bottle, according to the report.
Deputies spoke to a woman on scene who said there had been a fight in the backyard of one of the units. She said one of the men hit another with a broken beer bottle.
They spoke with another witness who said everyone was drinking Modelos outside, and an individual arrived to take another individual home. One of the individuals, presumably the victim, became upset, and “wanted to fight.” Someone told the victim fighting would be a bad idea, and the victim started to talk “smack” to Rico-Ramirez.
Rico-Ramirez then broke a Modelo bottle, then “lunged” towards the victim in a “stabbing like motion.”
The victim attempted to defend himself by lifting his arm in front of his face, and Rico-Ramirez’s strike with the beer bottle cut the victim’s left arm.
The witness said the victim “kept talking smack” to Rico-Ramirez, so Rico-Ramirez hit him again with the bottle in the left arm. The fight continued, and Rico-Ramirez threw the bottle at the victim which hit him near the stomach.
Deputies received a call from Rico-Ramirez, who provided them his address on Como Street, and another deputy traveled to meet him and take him into custody. Deputies noted that the yard was covered in blood and broken glass, and deputies collected multiple broken bottles as evidence.
At Rico-Ramirez’s residence, he told deputies that he’d been at the residence, but that nothing had happened. He was taken into custody and transported to the jail. Deputies noted that Rico-Ramirez had a fresh cut on a finger of his right hand.
Bail: $30,000
