Carlisa Franklin

Carlisa Franklin, 55, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on June 5, 1969, in Poughkeepsie, NY, to Charles and Fredonia Ann Franklin.

Carlisa graduated from Arlington High School in 1987, with the plans of pursuing college. While attending and exploring numerous fields, she later discovered that her true passion was in childcare. After spending some time working at a daycare, she decided to open her own at-home daycare business. Carlisa’s caring and compassion for others led to a fulfilling career and positive impact on the children’s lives.

In her free time, Carlisa enjoyed creating her own beauty products, from haircare to skincare. She also loved playing Match Masters on both her phone and iPad, shopping at Kohl’s, and watching her favorite shows, Sanford and S011 and Good Times. Carlisa will be remembered for her warmth, strength, humor and the love she shared with everyone.

Carlisa leaves to cherish her memory, her significant other, Lester Morgan; along with her three children David Thomas, DeVante Morgan and Dionnia Morgan. Also are the surviving siblings Tiesha Brooks, Angelina Jabang, and Kevin Franklin; along with her aunt Lorraine and uncle Sam; all of Poughkeepsie. She also leaves behind 21 nieces and nephews, 8 great-nieces and nephews, and I grandchild; along with a host of other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dionnia Franklin, and her brother-in-law Craig Brooks.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from I 0:00 AM to 11 :00 AM at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 1260 I. A funeral service will immediately follow al 11 :00 AM. Burial will take place al Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
