Brenda Dylewski Ledbetter, age 68, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Brenda was born on March 30, 1957, in Fairview, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Joseph Dylewski, Sr. and Mary Stasiulewicz Dylewski. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Gene Ledbetter, and by her beloved Old English Sheepdog, Baxter, who was never far from her side.
Brenda lived a life marked by kindness, laughter, and a deep love for her family and friends. She worked for many years in the community at Ingles, Food Lion, and O’Dear’s Country Diner. Brenda had a strong work ethic and took pride in giving her very best each day. She truly loved her customers—whether it was a familiar face at the checkout or a hungry guest at the diner—and she always had time to share a smile, a story, or a listening ear.
Known for her unselfish spirit, Brenda was the kind of person who gave more than she ever expected in return. She had a close-knit circle of friends who shared in her laughter, adventures, and unwavering support through the years. Her family will always remember her as warmhearted, friendly, and someone who could make anyone feel at ease.
Left to cherish her memory are her two loving daughters, Sarah Webb (A.J.) of Starkville, MS, and Emma Ledbetter of Canton; her cherished grandchildren, Avilene Webb and Paul Webb, who brought her immeasurable joy; and her three brothers, Mark Dylewski (Terry) of Endwell, NY, Michael Dylewski of Mills River, and Robert Dylewski, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Mills River. She also leaves behind many friends who will miss her dearly.
In honoring Brenda’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Brenda’s name to the McDowell County Senior Center – Home Delivered Meals Program, 100 Spaulding Road, Marion, NC 28752, a cause close to her heart.
