Brenda Bolden was born to the union of the late Freeman and L.A. Bolden on June 30th, 1952 in Bowman, Georgia. She joined Hall Grove Baptist Church as a child where she later helped to establish the Hall Grove Baptist Church Junior and Senior choirs. She graduated from Hart County High School and attended Athens Tech.
In her younger years she served as the secretary for the president at Chattahoochee Technical College. She was affiliated with several organizations including NAACP, American Legion and Elks. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to nurturing the gift of song in countless individuals, using her passion for music as a cherished ministry that brought joy and inspiration to many. After travelling as an evangelist all over the United States, she settled in Atlanta, GA. There, she joined Changing a Generation under the leadership of Bishop Morton. She transitioned from attending in-person church services to participating from home, finding comfort in her faith through online worship and prayer.
Brenda Leaves to cherish her memories her sons Qumaletra (Quwanda) Bolden of Ponchatoula, LA and Ivan (Tamasia) Bolden of Atlanta, GA. Four precious grandchildren who were her “angels” Mariah Bolden, Jayden Lloyd, Qumaletra Bolden Jr., and Joshua Bolden. Sisters Mamie (Willie) Moon, Patricia Bolden Fortson, Blondene (Mack) Owensby, Faye Bolden of Atlanta, GA and Dorothy Lawrence of Baltimore, MD. Brothers Travis Bolden of Atlanta, GA, James Bolden of Bowman, GA, and Michael (Tasha) Bolden of Jefferson, GA. Sister-in-law Jerri Ann Bolden of Elberton, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents Freeman and L.A. Bolden, son Johnathan Bolden, brothers Lenwood “Butterfly” and Eugene Bolden, and sister Elnora Bolden.
