Bradly Jay Erickson, 65, of Lake Kabetogama, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025. He was born on February 22, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
For over 40 years, Brad was a talented self-employed carpenter, known for his skill and dedication to his craft. An avid fisherman and expert hunter, Brad found immense joy in the outdoors, embracing all activities nature had to offer. He was a dedicated member of the community, serving with the Lake Kabetogama Volunteer Fire Department and as a member of the Kabetogama Snowdrifters Snowmobile Club.
Later in life, he enjoyed the simple pleasure of feeding the birds, deer, and any other visitors who stopped by his home. Brad will always be remembered for his willingness to help others, his beaming smile, and his fun-loving character. His friends and family will continue to laugh about the “few shenanigans” that brightened all of their lives.
Brad is survived by his mother, Elaine Goodrum of Lake Kabetogama; his brother, Jeff, his wife, Cathy, and their daughter, Casey Erickson. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Erickson, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A gathering of friends will be held at Kec’s Kove, Lake Kabetogama, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will follow on July 19, 2026 at Lake Kabetogama. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested for the Lake Kabetogama Fire Department and First Responders.
