Boil Water Order in effect for Clear Creek
- December 19, 2024
Alert: Clear Creek Tahoe is currently under a precautionary Boil Water Order.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. on December 18, Douglas County Water was dispatched to a possible water leak at Clear Creek Tahoe.
It was discovered that the transmission main that supplies water to Clear Creek Tahoe had a failure and required shut down. This shut down resulted in isolated areas within the subdivision of low or no water pressure.
As a result, we have issued a Clear Creek system wide pre-cautionary Boil Water Order. Residents have received a precautionary boil water order notice.
As of 3 p.m. on December 19, Douglas County’s contractor has located a breakage in the pipeline and has begun the necessary repairs to replace that section of pipeline.
Current outages and low pressure areas will remain through this evening into tomorrow morning (December 20). Pending any repair setbacks this evening, Douglas County water operations personnel will be flushing dead end mains and numerous hydrants throughout the water system to prepare the system to be brought back online.
Once the comprehensive flushing is complete, Douglas County Operations will begin the process of clearing the system to rescind the Boil Water Order. We continue to work closely with Clear Creek Tahoe Security, Clear Creek Tahoe Administration, and the Clear Creek Tahoe Association to provide as much repair status information as possible to their residents.
