Beverly West

Beverly Shackelford West, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Crowley, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8, Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025, at the Glen Rose Wiley Funeral Home, 504 Holden Street, in Glen Rose. Funeral services celebrating Beverly’s life will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, September 18, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Glen Rose Cemetery. Lunch will be provided with the family after the service at Massie’s BBQ.

Beverly was born on August 16, 1946, in Stephenville, Texas to the late Ed and Meta Shackelford. On March 6,1972, Beverly married Dennis West and together they raised three daughters, Jonna, Sonlee, and Holly. Beverly began her career as a punch card data entry analyst as the field was being developed and eventually worked as a computer programmer for Citigroup for over 20 years. She loved to celebrate life and showed it in both her joyful spirit and generous nature. She loved celebrating Halloween, spending Christmas with her family and collecting Santa Claus figurines. Beverly enjoyed traveling – and fondly remembered numerous trips to Colorado with her children, nieces, and nephews. Beverly ‘never met a stranger’ and will be affectionately remembered for her sense of humor.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Jonna and husband Roger Hopkins, Sonlee West and husband Adam Delu, and Holly West; grandchildren, Thomas, Grant, Jack and Sabina; her great-granddaughter, Ripley; sisters, Kay Norman and Debbie Bass; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, her son-in-law Terry Tidmore, and by her siblings, Glenda Butler, Larry Shackelford, and Terry Shackelford.
