Beverly Green

Beverly Yvette Green, affectionately known as “Bevie” was born on December 15, 1958, in Meadow Brook Hospital in Long Island, New York, to the late Evelyn Levine McClendon and James Sylvester McClendon.

Beverly’s journey through life was one filled with deep compassion, joy, and an infectious spirit. She dedicated over 20 years to the nursing profession, tending to others with a calm strength and nurturing heart. Her ability to offer comfort in life’s most difficult moments left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

A woman who lived many lives in one, Beverly called several places home, from New York to Delaware, and most recently, Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where she embraced sunshine, community, and the beauty of new beginnings. She was always up for an adventure and believed deeply in living life fully, unapologetically, and with flair.

Beverly loved to sing and dance. Whether it was a family gathering or a quiet kitchen moment, her voice could lift a room and her energy could turn any space into a celebration. Known for her quick wit and her ability to make everyone laugh, Beverly was truly the life of every party. Her presence lit up the lives of those around her, and her spirit was as bold and bright as her laughter.

She was a storyteller, a hug-giver, a shoulder to lean on, and a reminder that life is meant to be felt, deeply and loudly.

Beverly Yvette Green entered eternal rest on July 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy imprinted on every heart she touched. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her devoted husband, James Green; her beloved daughters, Simone Isaacs and Syda Isaacs; and her siblings: Dr. James McClendon, Rhunette Ferguson (Edwin), Tanya Crummell, and Lanette King (Kenneth). She is also survived by her stepchildren: Samika Green, Anaya Green, and Paula; her treasured grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Jordyn Isaacs, Jayden Gonzalez, Jaysen Gonzalez, Travon Dandridge Jr., Craig Crumety, Amoni Green, Paris, and Payton. Her nephews: Edwin Ferguson, D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Torrin Moseley, Thaddeus Murray, Terrance McClendon, Trotsky McClendon, and Darius McClendon; and her nieces: Yvette McClendon, Tracey Edwards, Denise Smith, Clara Smith, Erica Miller, Khadejah Miller, Ebony Miller, ShaDiamond Miller, and Kayla Miller will also carry her memory forward.
