Barbara Sipes

WARREN – Barbara Ellen Sipes, age 83, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 25, 2025 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born April 9, 1942 in Warren, the daughter of Reino Matthew and Ellen Mae (Beer) Komsie.

Barbara completed her high school education in Arizona, then later went to college in Bryan, Texas for her nursing degree. She worked as a nurse with a sheriff’s office in Texas as well as at several nursing homes. She was the ultimate caretaker. There was no one with a need that she wasn’t concerned about. She had a special place in her heart for children, but people of all ages were dear to her. She also loved her puppies, especially her dog of seventeen years, 3peace.

Precious memories of Barbara live on with her children: Martha Long of Mesa, Arizona, Monte Long of Vienna, Melodie Linder (Eric) of Navasota, Texas, Jennifer Sanders (Shawn) of Bryan, Texas, Gabriel Sipes (Lisa) of Girard, and Daniel Sipes of Bryan, Texas; twelve grandchildren: Chelsey (Scott), Hannah (Justin), Bethany (Wayne), Abigail (Joshua), Graceanna, Sarah (Sammy), Shawn, Jr., Seth, Shelby, Jailei, Samuel, and Miranda (Daniel); several great-grandchildren; three sisters: Suzanne Shaulis of Warren, Diane Jacobs of Joplin, Missouri, and Michelle Komsie of Niles; her brother, Ron Komsie of Niles; and her brother-in-law, Daryl Smith of Warren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her son, Michael Leroy Long; her grandson, Michael Leroy Long II, her sister, Elaine Smith; and her brother, Douglas Komsie.

Calling hours are 4:00 to 5:30 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 5:30 Tuesday. All who knew and loved Barbara are welcome to attend and celebrate her beautiful life.
