Barbara Oliver

Barbara Ann Posey Oliver was born on February 9, 1948, to the late Jesse Merline Posey and Mary Agnes Austin Posey in Twin Oaks, PA. She attended Chichester High School, graduating in 1966. She received an Associate degree from Swarthmore and Delaware County Community College in 2007. She retired from Crozer Keystone Health System after 40+ years as Human Resources Director. She later went on the work at Ship & Shore and for Dr. McGray.

Barbara was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she served on the Greeters and Seniors Ministries. She also worked for Hunt Irving Funeral Home as a Lady Attendant and instrumental part of the staff. Always providing a warm smile, wisdom, a listening ear, and guidance to each one.

She enjoyed planting flowers, the casino, shopping, traveling, and meeting with classmates and coworkers once a month for lunch.

Barbara married Charles Oliver and from this union their pride and joy Jared was born. On the evening of April 10, 2025, Barbara (Tottie) joined her heavenly father. She is now reunited with her husband Charles, her parents Jesse and Agnes Posey, her brother Richard Posey, Jacqueline Posey Nelson, grandparents Richard and Annie Austin and Matilda (Smith) Posey Richardson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her faithful, loving, devoted son, Jay; son, Myron (Tina); grandchildren, Janay Oliver, Jayden Oliver, and Parris Jackson; sister, Denise (Edwin); Sister-in-laws Jone Posey, Cola (Dee) and Norma (Baldie); special niece Cadeisha Carter; special nephews, Naheem and Little Richard Posey; special cousins, Tish, Linda Posey, Sara Marshall, Cheryl Moore, and Theron Posey; with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

She also leaves special friends who were more like family, Penny Thomas, Cynthia Church, Cynthia Boyer, Muriel Collins, Irene Fain, and Diane Fisher; her neighbors, Mary Staples, Viola Redd, and Gloria and Richard Blake.
