Barbara Kokinda

Barbara A. Kokinda, 83, of Catasauqua, died Thursday, October 9, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. She was the wife of Joseph T. Kokinda, Jr., and celebrated 58 years of marriage together this year.

Born in Hazelton, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Komishock) Letchko.

Barbara was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Catasauqua. She graduated from the Grace Downs Air Career School in NYC and served as a stewardess for Capital and United Airlines. Barbara enjoyed her travels as flight attendant and was stationed in various cities including Seattle. Later she worked for many years in the house cleaning department for the former HCR Manorcare in Bethlehem.

Above all, she was a loving wife, and a wonderful, hardworking mother who was devoted to her family. Surviving along with her husband Joseph, is her daughter Faith A. Kiely and husband Thomas V. Kiely, III, and sister Andrea Letchko.

Her viewing will be from 9-10am Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 W. Union St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am in the church. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Catasauqua. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to handle the arrangements.
