Barbara L. Heldenbergh (née Kollett), aged 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 14, 2025, at UMASS Hospital in Worcester, MA, after a period of declining health. Born on September 16, 1938, in Uxbridge, MA, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Frederick W. and Mildred P. (Aldrich) Kollett. She was the heart of her family, the beloved wife of Richard D. Heldenbergh since their marriage on August 10, 1963, and the devoted mother to her four sons, Glenn, Shawn, Brian, and the late Scott.

Barbara’s life was a testament to her deep faith and the love she had for her family and community. Throughout her life, she worked in banking, a career that reflected her meticulous nature and strong work ethic. Barbara’s dedication to her profession was mirrored in her commitment to her family and her faith. As a lifetime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Millville, she was a pillar of strength and an example of Christian values in practice.

Her brother Gordon Kollett of Uxbridge, along with her late siblings Raymond, Francis, Elaine, Evelyn, Lillian, and MaryJane saw Barbara as a beacon of kindness and family unity. Barbara’s legacy includes not only her sons and their wives—Glenn and Christine, Shawn and Joanna, Brian and Nicole—but also her adored 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories of their loving grandmother.

Known affectionately as Barb & Rick, Barbara and her husband were a team in every sense of the word, sharing a life full of love and mutual respect. She was a woman who got right down to play with her children and grandchildren, creating moments of joy and laughter that will be remembered fondly. Barbara’s famous apple pie and her amazing baking skills were just a few of the many ways she expressed her love for her family.
