Barbara H. Hammock of Decatur, AL passed away on Friday March 7, 2025
Mrs. Hammock was preceded in death by her parents William L. Hand, Lila Brown Hand, her husband Wayne T. Hammock and brother William C. Hand (Patricia)
She is survived by her daughter Felicia Easterling (Darryl), son’s Michael Hammock (Debra), and Phillip Hammock.
Grand Children: Nacole Evans, Alicia Hammock-Holland (Jeremy), Taylor Prince (Jessika), Chase Hammock (Nicole), Tyler Prince (Amber), Dillion Easterling, Brett Hammock, Tanner Prince (Catherine), Dustin Easterling (Kristina) and Austin Hammock.
Great Grand Children: nineteen
As well as other family and friends
She was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Minor High School after graduation she married her high school sweetheart Wayne also known as Ham. She lived in the Birmingham area for most of her life. She was a loving wife and mother, who devoted her time to caring for the home, her children, grand-children, and her yard. She and Wayne then moved to spend their final years together in a family built cabin in Wears Valley, Tennessee. She always called this place home. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease she then relocated to Decatur, Alabama to reside with her daughter and son-in-law until her passing.
She loved being outdoors, hiking, camping, tending to the yard, planting flowers, and cutting grass. She loved each season for the beauty each would bring.
Although she, loved flowers. It was her desire that no flowers be sent.
A short visitation time with the family and service of remembrance will be held at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home in Adamsville, Alabama beginning at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 21, 2025.
