Arturo Llerena

Arturo Llerena, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on September 15, 2025. He was 94. Born in Chuquibamba, Peru, on March 8, 1931, Arturo’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to his family.

In pursuit of a brighter future, Arturo and his beloved wife, Adela and kids, embarked on a courageous journey from Peru to the United States. This bold move laid the foundation for a life rich in accomplishments and filled with joy. A man of many talents, Arturo taught himself to play the guitar, filling their home with the beautiful sounds of classical music. He was an avid reader and a skilled craftsman, always ready to tackle a new project. Yet, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, to whom he imparted his wisdom and boundless affection.

During his final years, Arturo battled the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease. While the illness gradually eroded his mind, the core of his being—his kind and loving nature—remained untouched, a constant presence until his final moments.

Arturo is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Adela, their children Cecilia and her husband Vincenzo, son Jorge and daughter Rocio. His cherished grandchildren Cristina and her husband Andrew, Daniel and his wife Gillian and great-grandchildren, Daphne and Enzo

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Arturo’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at the following link:
