Armando Ticzon
- June 16, 2025

Armando Amorao Ticzon, aged 87, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025. Armando was born in San Pablo, Philippines, on July 7, 1937, to Manuel Ticzon and Conchita Ticzon. One of seven children, he graduated from San Pablo College in the Philippines and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Soon after, he met his greatest love, Lucilie M. Llanes. The couple wed on January 3, 1960, and over the next eleven years, they immigrated to the USA with their four children, settled in Chicago, and added another baby to their family. Armando and Lucilie raised their family in a home filled with grace and love, instilling in their children the value of a strong work ethic.
Through the years, Armando aided countless family members and friends, whether it was helping them remodel or repair their homes or navigate life in the USA. Some of Armando’s favorite pastimes were walking at the Lincolnwood Mall with his barkada, watching old Westerns, fishing, and gardening in his backyard. His vegetable gardens yielded a bountiful harvest, creating memories of delicious familial meals that often echoed with laughter due to his infectious sense of humor.
Armando was preceded in death by his parents, Conchita and Manuel; his siblings Dolores, Felicisimo, Norberto, Nelia, and Romeo; the love of his life, Lucilie; and their son, Mario.
He is survived by his sister, Estrella; numerous nieces and nephews; his children: Al Niño (June), Arlene, Arden, Aranee, and Arona; and his grandchildren: Alexis (Kathlyn), Lauren (Aaron), Asia (Ethan), Penelope, Maya (Jack), Georgia, Ava, and Julianna. Loved and adored by so many, Armando, aka “Mando”, “Lolo”, or “Uncle Dodo”, will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Arguably, he had more friends than any of his grandchildren (confirmed by 2). He leaves a lasting legacy as a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Avenue, Chicago. There will be a funeral service starting at 6PM. Interment private. For info, 773-736-3833.
