Anasue “Abby” Haines
Anasue “Abby” Haines, 88, of Springfield, IL, passed away on October 7, 2025. She was born on September 24, 1937, to Everett and Edith (Bombarger) Randall. She married the love of her life, Richard P. Haines, on November 1, 1980, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Anasue “Abby” (Ron) Botz of Springfield and Deborah Sockel of Springfield; son, David (Laurie) Sockel of Rochester; three grandchildren, Richard (Shannon) Harbour Jr. of St. Louis, Adam Schuyler of Springfield, and Jarid (Tara) Sockel of Loami; four great-grandchildren, Jayden and Kamden Sullivan and Landyn and Aalayah Klasing; brother, Michael (Debbie) Randall of Prattville, AL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Joan Butler, Gloria Gagnon, Sharon Bailey, and Beth Miller; brothers, Bill Randall and Dick Randall; and granddaughter, Lauren Klasing.
Abby retired from Oak Terrace Nursing Home after 25 years as an administrator. Abby enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii. She also enjoyed being in nature, where she loved to go camping in Deer Park in Petersburg. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
Abby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation: 9:00 am – 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Mark Gifford officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
