Ana Gonzalez

Ana Gonzalez, 78, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Preferred Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Old Bridge. Born and raised in Havana, Cuba to the late Rosendo Carrillo and Leonore Leiva, Ana moved to San Antonio, TX in 1962, and graduated Blessed Heart Academy in 1966. She lived in Union City, NJ until settling in Old Bridge in 1978.

After graduating high school, Ana worked as a secretary until 1970. She stayed home caring for her family as a homemaker until 1997 and finished her career as a sales associate, retiring in 2005.

A devout catholic, Ana belonged to St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Old Bridge and taught CCD for many years. She enjoyed painting and making jewelry and was an avid reader. Ana’s motto in high school was “To love everyone and to hate no one” which she practiced daily throughout her life.

A devoted wife until 2009 when Ana lost her beloved husband Gilberto, she was a mom to all her children’s friends and loved everyone she came across. Most of her family knew her as NeNe, but Ana’s older friends would refer to her as Anita.

Ana leaves behind her loving family, children; Gabriel of Somerset, Janette of Old Bridge and Gilbert and his wife Dawn of Conroe, TX as well as her granddaughter Gabriella.

Visitation will be held at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Route 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857 on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 4pm until 8pm and on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, beginning 9:30am. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 10:00am followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge. At the wishes of Ana, she will be privately cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ana’s name may be sent to the Special Olympics.
