Amy Kennedy, 49

Amy Kennedy, 49 of Ashland passed from this life on Tuesday evening, May 6, 2025 at home with her family by her side.

She was born on January 18, 1976 in Shelby, the daughter of James and Patricia (nee Brown) Houser.

Amy graduated from Northmor High School, Class of 1994. She went on to further her education and earned an associate’s degree in business administration from Bradford College in 1996.

She married Billy W. Kennedy Jr. on December 17, 2016.

Amy was employed for many years as receptionist at the Hampton Inn in Ashland and previously worked as a pharmacy technician.

Throughout her life, Amy was a kind and charismatic woman with a zest for life, and a true Christian. She loved vacationing with her family to South Myrtle Beach and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchild.

She is survived by her loving husband of nine years, Billy Kennedy of Ashland; one daughter, Makayla (Fiancé, Naythan Golden) Bogner of Wilmington, Delaware; one son, Robert Laing of Ashland; four step children, Teagan, Kaiden, and Treytn Kennedy of Ashland, and Carter Kennedy of New Haven, Kentucky; her father, James (Debbie) Houser of Mansfield; and three brothers, Greg (Jane Obrien) Houser of Mansfield, Ryan Heffernan of Galion, and James (Mary Kipp) Woodke of Mansfield.

Amy is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Patricia Heffernan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Larry White presiding. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
