Alta Mae Thomas, age 69 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Hazard ARH, Hazard, Kentucky. She was born October 18, 1955 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Dud & Ellen Griffith Marsillett. She was the wife of Willis Thomas. Along with her husband she is survived by her Sons: Clinton (Mindy) Thomas & Ricky (Jessica) Thomas both of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Daughters: Lisa (Christopher) Mckenzie of Prestonsburg, Kentucky & Diane Marsillett (Michael Clark) of Auxier, Kentucky; Grandchildren: Tyler Blessing, Johnathan Blessing, Dakotah Thomas, Larah Watson, Gracie Conn, Jasamine Moore, Michael Clark Jr., Nathan Clark, Ethan Clark, Lil Ricky Thomas, Marissa Thomas & Logan Mckenzie; A Host of Great Grandchildren; Brothers & Sisters: Douglas Marsillett of Van Lear, Kentucky, Dennis Marsillett of West Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Roger Marsillett of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Timmy Marsillett of Eastern, Kentucky, Bertha Tackett, Doris Briggs, Marlene Prater & Ellene Maines all of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Special Friend: Katrena Marsillett. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Brothers: William “Kenny” Marsillett, Eugene Marsillett & Danny Marsillett. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Visitation will begin Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 6pm at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky and will continue all day Sunday, August 31, 2025
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 1, 2025 at 2pm at the funeral home with Nick O’Brian officiating
Burial will follow at Mayo Cemetery, Prestonsburg, Kentucky
