Alice Collins

Alice Collins (née Alice F. Cruise), a lifelong resident of Martinez, California, passed away peacefully at her home on September 2, 2025, at the age of 83, following complications from surgery.

Born in Concord, California, Alice grew up in the close-knit community of Martinez, where she spent her entire life. She was a graduate of Alhambra High School and later worked for many years at Sears as a contract administration clerk.

Alice had a deep love for gardening, cooking, and flower arranging. She also enjoyed playing the guitar, watching classic films, and spending time with her family. Known for her warm spirit and thoughtful advice, Alice was someone her loved ones could always count on.

She was devoted to her family, especially in caring for her husband, George L. Collins Jr., during his long illness until his passing in 2018. Afterward, she continued to show her compassion by caring for her brother Don, who lives with Alzheimer’s. Alice and George shared many joyful years together, often hosting card games and gatherings for family and friends.

Alice is survived by her children, Nancy Rubino and Mark Collins; her brother, Don Cruise; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen, and brothers James and Jack.

Alice will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
