Alice Anders

Alice M. Anders, 71, of East Freedom, went to Heaven on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Roger P. and Alberta M. (Noel) Lanzendorfer. She married Gary M. Anders in 1969 in Winchester, VA and he preceded her to Heaven on July 16, 2011, after 42 years of marriage.
Alice is survived by her three daughters: Lisa Brode (Jim), Crystal Marlin (Vaughn), and Angel Anders (and companion Jake); and her son, Dwayne Anders (Keri). She was a loving grandmother to nine granddaughters: Sylvia, Renae, Sidnee, Alexis, Kerise, Gracie, Emily, Kayla, and Tara; and six grandsons: Matthew, Deric, Dylen, Dustin, Jacob, and Jaymes. Alice was also a proud great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren: Farrah, Paisley, Ben, Jayce, Maddy, Marcy, Liah, Kirah, Linley, Aizley, Lucas, Jaxson, Sophia, Luca, Sara, Konor, Holdyen, and Hendrix.
She is also survived by her sisters, Sandy Hodge (Jerry) and Brenda Salyards (Bob); brothers, Jim Lanzendorfer (Diana), Jerry Lanzendorfer (Brenda), and Roger Lanzendorfer Jr. (Kim); her beloved dog, Baby; and Matthew’s wife, Kayla, with whom she shared a special bond.
Alice was preceded in death by her siblings: Nancy Ake, Elaine Oakes, David Lanzendorfer, Michael Lanzendorfer Sr., and Linda Lanzendorfer.
She attended Hollidaysburg High School. Alice worked as a Scheduling Coordinator for the Custody Office and waitressed at Inlows Drive In. She attended Smith Corner Church and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association Auxiliary. Alice enjoyed crafting, crocheting, beading, and quilting, and she especially cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at The Good Funeral Home Inc, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA 16601. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11 am at the funeral home, followed by committal at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
