Alfred Stakemann

Alfred L. Stakemann, aged 72, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Holmdel, NJ. Born on October 5, 1952, in Cuba, Alfred’s journey led him to the United States in the 1950s, where he embraced life in Queens and the Bronx, NY, before ultimately settling in Monmouth County, NJ, in 2018 where he has resided since.

Alfred leaves behind a devoted family who will forever cherish his memory: his wife, Bienvenida Stakemann; his beloved children, Raquel Collaguazo and her husband Jose, Shirley Fennelli and her husband Jeff, Yvette Stakemann and her husband Jose, and John Stakemann and his wife Brittany; along with the mother of his children Rafaela Stakemann; his adored grandchildren Matthew, Dante, Ethan, Andrew, Jonathan, Joseph, and Aria-and his treasured great-grandson, Angel. He is also survived by his mother Aida Pellegrino, his siblings Yvonne, John, Ed, Karen, and Fatima; and many nieces and nephews.

Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Alfredo and Victoria Stakemann, and his brother George.

Alfred found joy in hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him closer to nature, which he revered. He had a particular fondness for antiques, often spending hours searching for them and collecting beautiful stained-glass pieces. A lover of western movies and art, Alfred enjoyed the vast landscapes and storied characters of the genre.

Always one to humor and uplift those around him, Alfred’s wise and funny nature ensured there was never a dull moment in his company. His love for animals was evident in his care for his own pets and the compassion he showed by feeding wildlife and stray animals nearby.

Alfred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, with a service beginning at 5:00pm at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 RT. 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The American Lung Association.
