Alfred Brode, was born March 22, 1937 in New Jersey, and died on Tuesday, June 11, 2025, at his home in Lantana, FL.

His parents were Arthur and Helen Brode, deceased.

His wife Linda Theresa Marie, deceased.

His brother Arthur Brode.

His children: Cynthia Marie Bolliger, deceased; Melissa Ann Brode-Hamilton; Eric Alfred Brode; and Belinda Kumpfner, husband Cecil R. Kumpfner.

His grandchildren: Lori Ann Long, Jamie Thompson, Joey Thompson, deceased, Melinda Stevie Brode, Tara Lynn Sims, Andrew Anthony Hamilton, and Willie Lee Sims.

His great-grandchildren: Camerin Sims, Riley Long, Easton Long, and Cameron Briggs.

Alfred worked for his parents restaurants in NY. He started his Army Basic Training on January 4, 1961, where he was a cook. He then left the army and moved to Florida. He and Linda married on March 5, 1962. In Florida, he worked at his parents’ restaurant in Hollywood by the Gulfstream Race Track.

Dad also worked for Eastern Airlines and went to Miami Dade Community College where he graduated. He then moved to Boca Raton but still worked for Eastern Airlines until the Union went on strike. He and Mom then opened a Deli Sandwich Shop on March 4, 1975 in Deerfield Beach named The Pickle Barrel; it was very successful. Dad then went back to college at Florida Atlantic University where he graduated. He then sold The Pickle Barrel and started the Star-Seal of Florida with three partners, bought them out, and is still a very successful business.

He raised his children with values, respect, and love for all.

He traveled the world with his family and friends.
