Alexander Green Murphey III, 68, of Tippo, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A lifelong farmer, Alex was known for his strong work ethic and his love for the land. He attended Northwest Community College and lived a life marked by energy, resilience, and a true “get up and go” spirit. Beyond farming, he cherished time outdoors, whether hunting deer and ducks or searching for arrowheads on his property.

He is survived by his children, Lex Murphey (Mallori) of Tippo, John Steele Murphey (Kaitlyn) of Tippo, and Staci Toole (Ray) of Teasdale; his mother, Carolyn Murphey of Tippo; his brother, Morris “Brother” Murphey (Elise) of Tippo; and sisters Patricia Murphey of Baldwyn, Florida, and Cynthia May of Jacksonville, Florida. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Weston Toole and Mary Claire Murphey, who were the light of his life.

Alex was preceded in death by his father, A.G. “T” Murphey, and his sister, Morri Furr.

He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his deep connection to the land he farmed, his passion for the outdoors, and his determination to live life to the fullest.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, at Tippo Methodist Church Cemetery.
